FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(COMPETITION VIDEO ORDERS)
We understand when you're ordering videos from a dance competition you may well have some questions for us. Below we've tried to cover the questions we get asked most often but if you can't find an answer to your query please do email us directly and we'll be happy to help.
1. CAN I VIEW THE FILMS BEFORE I BUY?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer this as part of our service. We film every competition with between 3-5 cameras and complete an edit for each using the best angles available to really show off your dance and choreography in the best way possible. As you can imagine, with some competitions running up to 12 hours in duration it just wouldn't be possible to edit each one for you to see before you buy! However, we complete a showreel after each competition to give you an idea of the image quality and the angles used at your event so you get a good feel for how your dance will look. You'll find these on our social media platforms where you'll also see some of our previous showreels too.
2. HOW LONG DO THE VIDEOS TAKE TO ARRIVE?
All videos ordered within three weeks of the competition are sent out within four weeks of the event. We aim to get them out as soon as possible but have to schedule editing alongside other projects and shows. However, if you have an urgent need for your video, for example for GCSE evidence or a competition entry, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
3. HOW ARE THE VIDEOS SENT TO ME?
Videos are sent using WeTransfer which is a secure and widely used platform for large file transfers. You will receive an email from WeTransfer to the address you provide us containing a download link. Downloading is straightforward though on some phones and tablets the downloads are saved in specific folders so it's worth making sure you know where to find them!
You can see how large the files are when you access your WeTransfer download so make sure you have enough space. Typically a single dance will be approximately 400MB.
We Transfer emails sometimes end up in the spam folder so please check there if you haven't received the email within four weeks. In some cases there are email providers or firewalls that can block WeTransfer, if you don't receive anything at all just get in touch with us and we can send your videos using an alternative method.
4. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY VIDEO ORDER?
Each video order is for one dance so you need to list each dance you would like the film of and pay for the total on the order form. For example, if you wanted to order a modern, lyrical and two troupe dances that would be four videos in total. Just list them all on the form and select 'four videos' for your payment option. For troupe dances, please include the title of the dance so we can make sure we send you the correct ones.
5. CAN I ORDER AFTER THE EVENT?
Yes you can. The pre order opens on the website in the week leading up to the event, then the order form is available for four weeks after each competition. After that we may not be able to complete your order but it's worth emailing to ask as we may still have the footage.
There are leaflets available at each competition that include the website information and have a QR code for quick access so make sure you take one with you if you're going to order when you get home. At some events Gayle will be there taking orders in person, at those events you can pay by card or contactless and of course have a chat to her if you need any help or have any questions.
6. WHAT IF I DELETE MY VIDEOS?
Don't worry! We know how easy that can be! We keep the edited videos for 6 months after the event so if you lose them or miss the download period just email us and we'll send them out again to you. After six months we may not be able to so it's with saving them somewhere else!
7. HOW MANY TIMES CAN I DOWNLOAD THE VIDEOS?
As many times as you like while the link is active. You're buying the videos for personal use so it's fine to share them with friends and family, you can forward the download link if you like. Each video is personalised at the beginning though so troupe dances and duets will have the individual dancer's name at the start.
8. DO YOU FILM DANCE SHOWS?
We do! There's plenty of information about those services elsewhere on the website but if you like the videos you ordered at a competition and would like to talk to us about filming your show please feel free to email or call us and we'd be more than happy to have a chat about the different options.
